Job Purpose
The Head of Government Relations will lead Great Minds' efforts to influence federal and state education policy, establish key partnerships, and provide strategic insights that drive the organization's goals. This role is critical to shaping the external federal, state and local landscape in alignment with Great Minds' mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead policy strategy for Great Minds ensuring there is a comprehensive public policy plan that aligns with company goals and objectives.
- Forge and nurture relationships with public officials, policymakers, and key stakeholders to advance education policy initiatives.
- Oversee contract lobbyists and other partners in targeted geographies to ensure alignment with Great Minds' policy objectives.
- Establish and communicate federal and state policy priorities, crafting both annual and long-term strategies.
- Leverage knowledge of federal, state, and local policy trends to inform Great Minds' strategic planning, revenue forecasting, and product development.
- Represent Great Minds by speaking on policy issues in legislative hearings, state board meetings, and nationwide conferences and roundtables.
Requirements
The expected base salary range for this position is $220,000-$240,000, however the offered salarymay be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
