This position is based out of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area where you will start as fully remote and then transition to hybrid once offices are opened in those locations.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
What You’ll Do
As Head of Government Relations at LILT, you will build and lead our government relations strategy, focusing on developing relationships with key stakeholders in the public sector while navigating complex regulatory landscapes. You will play a crucial role in positioning LILT as a trusted partner in AI-powered translation solutions for government agencies.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and execute LILT's government relations strategy across federal, state, and local levels
Cultivate relationships with government officials, agencies, and key decision-makers
Partner with our business development team to advocate for new and existing customers
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting AI technology and language services
Lead advocacy efforts and represent LILT in government meetings and industry events
Collaborate with internal teams to align government relations initiatives with business objectives
Create and manage educational programs to inform policymakers about AI language technology
Skills and Experience :
10 years of experience in government relations, preferably in technology or AI sectors
Strategic ability to understand a technology product and business goals and devise an appropriations plan
Strong network of relationships within federal government agencies and the legislative branch
Deep understanding of federal procurement processes and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Bachelor's degree required

Our founders, Spence and John met at Google working on Google Translate. As researchers at Stanford and Berkeley, they both worked on language technology to make information accessible to everyone. They were amazed to learn that Google Translate wasn’t used for enterprise products and services inside the company and left to start a new company to address this need – LILT.
