DESCRIPTION:
Great Plains Beef is looking for a dependable and driven full-time Smokehouse Butcher. Great Plains Beef’s Smokehouse produces a variety of premium smoked and cured meats, including sausages, bratwurst, chorizo, bacon, and salami. This position will be carried out in Great Plains Beef’s state-of-the-art Smokehouse facility. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about CP Smokehouse operation.
The Smokehouse Butcher will be responsible for cutting and trimming primal and sub primal cuts. This position will also assist with learning various machines for grinding and mixing process. The Smokehouse butch will assist with make sure all items are packaged and labeled correctly. This position will also be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting equipment and the work area to meet all food safety guidelines.
An ideal candidate would have good working knowledge of food safety, be proficient with knives, with strong attention to details and cleanliness. A background in culinary or food preparation is helpful. The Smokehouse Butcher will work within a team environment to make sure all safety and quality standards are attained. Assume other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare, pick and package orders
· Lift 50lbs frequently
· Lift 75lbs occasionally
· Package products according to company guidelines and production standards.
· Monitor packaging equipment and machinery to ensure they are functioning properly.
· Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
· Label packages with product information and tracking codes.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
· Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of products.
· Report any issues or concerns to the production supervisor.
· Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
