Smokehouse Packaging

DESCRIPTION: Great Plains Beef is looking for a dependable and driven full-time Smokehouse Production Assistant. This individual would have an opportunity to work as a team and learn different positions within our Smokehouse processing area. The Smokehouse Production Assistant will be responsible for the packaging of products on our production line, ensuring that products are packaged and labeled efficiently and accurately. This position will also be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting equipment and the work area to meet all food safety guidelines. The Smokehouse Production Assistant will also assist in making boxes, restocking product, and staging supplies. Must have the ability to work in cold temperatures. This position will be carried out in Great Plains Beef’s state-of-the-art Smokehouse facility. This is an excellent opportunity to come in and learn more about CP Smokehouse operation. The ideal candidate will be a task-oriented worker, with strong attention to details and cleanliness. Some familiarity with working with food production and sanitation requirements helpful. Wants to learn or strengthen knowledge of artisan charcuterie practices and methods. Has great interest in making charcuterie; salami, cured whole muscles, handmade cooked / smoked sausages. The Smokehouse Packaging Assistant will work within a team environment to make sure all safety and quality standards are attained. Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors is a must. Assume other duties as assigned.   Qualifications: · No industry experience required · Able to learn quickly, embrace responsibility and accept accountability · Attention to detail · Able to work independently and communicate within a team environment · Good organizational skills, time management, and mathematical skills · Able to lift 50lbs frequently and lift over 75 pounds occasionally · Able to work in refrigerated and freezer units for extended periods · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.   Responsibilities: · Prepare, pick and package orders · Lift 50lbs frequently · Lift 75lbs occasionally · Package products according to company guidelines and production standards. · Monitor packaging equipment and machinery to ensure they are functioning properly. · Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy. · Label packages with product information and tracking codes. · Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency. · Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of products. · Report any issues or concerns to the production supervisor. · Follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Full Time Starting Pay: $17.50
