A Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions within the Epic healthcare system. This includes creating and optimizing complex reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support decision-making processes for clinical, financial, and operational departments. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, gathering requirements, and ensuring that the solutions align with the organization's objectives. Additionally, an Epic BI Developer works with large datasets, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations, while utilizing Epic's reporting tools and technologies like Clarity, Caboodle, and Radar to transform raw data into actionable insights.

Job Description:

This position requires the completion of an EPIC Assessment for your application to be considered. You will receive an email from the recruiter shortly after submitting your application with more information.

This job can be performed out of any of the following campus locations: West Burlington, Fort Madison or Mt. Pleasant. Position will be onsite during implementation of EPIC, with possible hybrid options in the future.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Epic certification in at least one module or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
  
  

PREFERRED:

• Experience with EPIC
• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) A degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics
• 1-3 years Experience in healthcare analytics or clinical operations.
• 1-3 years Experience in BI development, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

What you will do

• Configuring and testing Epic‐released and Foundation System content for all applications
• Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle
• Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics
• Modifying existing reports, as necessary
• Distributing analytics content to data consumers
• Reviewing peer reports for validity
• Working with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers
• Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records
• Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments
• Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determining how to implement the changes
• Responsible for building and maintaining: Cubes, Extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, Third‐party BI tools, Epic data in Caboodle

• Ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment
• For financial reporting: Prior experience working with an AR system is desirable, but not required
