Scheduled Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Job Description

• Posts payments and adjustments to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
• Posts insurance denials with associated reasons for insurance remittance advices for follow up by PFS staff.
• Calculates the patient and insurance balances when posting payments and denials.
• Computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep financial records complete.
• Correlates edits and ensures that all data is received and processed correctly.
• Performs a combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
• May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to transactions recorded by other staff.
• Balances, records and prepares bank deposits in a timely manner.
  
  

Qualifications

Required

High School diploma

Data entry experience

Experience working with computers

Preferred

Medical terminology

Associate degree in accounting or business administration

Previous work experience in a hospital, clinic, insurance company, or other financial service setting

Cash posting/reconciliation experience
