Job Details:
Scheduled Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Job Description:
- Posts payments and adjustments to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Posts insurance denials with associated reasons for insurance remittance advices for follow up by PFS staff.
- Calculates the patient and insurance balances when posting payments and denials.
- Computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep financial records complete.
- Correlates edits and ensures that all data is received and processed correctly.
- Performs a combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
- May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to transactions recorded by other staff.
- Balances, records and prepares bank deposits in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma
Data entry experience
Experience working with computers
Preferred:
Medical terminology
Associate degree in accounting or business administration
Previous work experience in a hospital, clinic, insurance company, or other financial service setting
Cash posting/reconciliation experience
