The Summer Library Aide handles incoming library materials, makes them available for patrons and assists with summer programs. This is a temporary part time summer position from June through August , with a training on June 2 from 4 to 7pm.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education and Experience: None required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: At least 14 years of age.Ability to clearly communicate with patrons to refer them to appropriate public service staff.Ability to arrange and retrieve library materials according to alphabetical and numerical filing systems.Ability to determine and abide by the public service limitations of this position.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTFrequently operates office and library equipmentOccasionally positions self to shelve materials from ground level to over 6 feet highRemains in a stationary position for extended periods of timeFrequently moves around the library buildingOccasionally moves library books and materials up to 50 poundsOccasionally moves carts loaded with library materials Our commitment to growth: GRRL is committed to helping our future and present staff develop preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.A successful candidate will have: Positive attitude and strong work ethicEnjoy working with people from diverse backgroundsOrganizational, interpersonal, and time management skillsAbility to self-direct and work as a team memberAbility to meet deadlines and follow instructionsAbility to foster positive working relationships and an inclusive workplaceA desire to learn and develop skills and abilitiesAbility to be flexible and adapt to changes
