Job Responsibilities
The Substance Use Disorder Professional will be responsible for:
- Absessing and identifying the treatment services individuals in service should receive.
- Developing comprehensive service plans that include built-in review and evaluation points.
- Providing individual relapse prevention, harm reduction, and substance abuse counseling based on motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral responses to mental illness and substance abuse.
- Working effectively with individuals in service support systems, education and vocational training providers, and self-help groups providing services to individuals in service.
- Connecting individuals in service to self-help recovery groups.
- Evaluating, on a continuing basis, services and expected outcomes.
- Being an advocate and liaison for individuals in service in securing emergency detox and rehabilitation care, and other community supports that promote recovery.
