Great Western Building Systems seeks an experienced Beam Prep Associate to join our rapidly growing company. GWB was established in 2016 and is quickly becoming a leader in the Pre-Engineered metal building industry.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety conscious, and skilled in preparing fabricated materials for painting or further processing. They ensure that each step in the cleaning and preparation process is executed accurately and efficiently, adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Responsible and accountable for shop organization, cleanliness, and quality
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Maintain a safe workplace according to Osha standards and foster a culture to promote health and safety
Ensure all fellow employees are adhering to all safety standards
Maintain production levels as outlined by the schedule while ensuring quality remains the top priority
Ensure all jobs are completed in a timely manner
Must know how to use pneumatic tools and electric hand tools efficiently and safely
Must be able to work in elements that are both hot and cold
Must complete a medical evaluation before wearing a respirator and be fit tested
PPE and required PPE must be worn at all times. Required PPE is defined as gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe boots
When grinding employees must wear a face shield, safety glasses, and a respirator at all times
Must be able to wear respirators for long periods of time depending on the workflow.
Ensure all equipment in Beam Prep is in good working condition before operation
Attend all scheduled production meeting and safety trainings as required
Be a proactive member of the manufacturing problem-solving team
Duties, responsibilities, and reporting relationships may fluctuate or evolve in light of your skill, experience, and the company’s needs
The work environment is primarily indoors and will, at times, be exposed to natural weather elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow, and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Qualifications
The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
Safety-oriented and adheres with all Osha safety standards
Diligent with great attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
Ability to operate a forklift is a plus
Must be able to regularly lift and move 60 - 80 lbs and occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 100 lbs
Must be able to walk, stand, use hands to handle tools, reach with arms, kneel, stoop, crouch, and talk and hear in noisy environments
Compensation and Benefits
$16.00 - $19.20 per hour, depending on experience
