CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a qualified candidate to perform inorganic chemical analysis using ICP-OES, wet chemistry and other techniques. Benefits (medical, dental, life) are generous; salary dependent on experience.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
1. Independently develop, validate, and routinely execute test methods in support of production and shipments as required. Analyze data, document results, maintain laboratory notebook according to industry standards and internal guidelines. Help in writing Procedures, Specifications and Test Methods. This person will own the analytical and quality control business segment for the team.
2. Analysis of finished products, in-process materials, raw materials, and cleaning verification and validation samples according to the assigned specifications, methods and protocols.
3. Preparation of reagents/standards/medias needed for analysis according to established methods.
4. Disposal of hazardous waste according to environmental regulations and company/ departmental procedures.
5. Assures right-first-time execution of departmental methods and SOPs.
6. Audits and verifies results, including but not limited to, calculations in notebooks/logbooks and results in reports to check for accuracy and integrity of data.
7. Writes and reviews analytical methods, deviations, protocols, SOPs and any other technical document.
8. Supports Material Evaluation Process for new materials.
9. Provides project support for new product development which requires a close working relationship directly with customers as well as suppliers.
10. Troubleshoot instrumentation
11. Cleans and keeps laboratory clean
12. Logs in samples and documents requested information. Submits supply lists.
13. Documents calibration/verification of instruments on defined schedule.
14. Attend scheduled customer or company-sponsored meetings and/or training, as required
15. Required to participate in plant check rotations and in plant safety teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. MUST REQUIREMENTS:
An unwavering commitment to Quality Control/Assurance.
o Minimum Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in any of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry.
o Must have ICP-OES experience (minimum 3 years) including preparation of standards, and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot ICP-OES. University/College experience does not qualify.
o Wet chemistry technique experience and with inorganic chemicals is a strong plus.
2. Experience with XRD and other instrumentation a plus.
3. Ability to multi-task, switch gears, and organize workload
4. Minimum of 3 years relevant laboratory/analytical experience
5. Exemplary (regular, reliable, predictable) attendance and adherence to schedule
6. Pass the drug test; Pass the background check
