General Description of Responsibilities :

A Member Support Coordinator has responsibility for creating a positive environment and experience for customers. This position interfaces directly and regularly with customers to answer a wide variety of questions and resolve issues about Association membership, benefits and programs; processes and maintains membership applications, change requests, payments and related records and documentation; supports lock box access; and performs a variety of accounts receivable, data entry and auditing and related administrative / business processes.

The focus of this position requires a specialist orientation to completing detailed, accurate work based on established guidelines. A customer driven attitude is necessary in serving members and providing world class hospitality. Job tasks and performance expectations regarding quality of work and accuracy are well defined by existing standards, systems, and technology. A conscientious, disciplined approach to work is essential. This position requires an outgoing and friendly communication style that is considerate of the feelings and attitudes of others and can work cooperatively with a wide variety of people. This position also requires a willingness and ability to learn new skills and maintain the organization’s high standards for error-free, quality work.

  • Other Responsibilities / Expectations – Integrated with Performance of All Other Duties :

  • Provide exemplary customer service; actively engage in resolving member concerns / problems.
  • Understand and comply with all governing documents of GAAR and SWMLS including Bylaws, Policies, etc.
  • Support Association events as requested / required.
  • Continuously improve processes; develop and maintain documentation of all processes related to position, as well as others as assigned.
  • Initiate and support action / project plans that improve Association services and processes and support strategic initiatives.
  • Perform a variety of additional office and business processes as assigned.
  • Engage in ongoing personal development initiatives to ensure that specialty knowledge and skills remain current; apply new knowledge to advance Association services and performance.
  • Education, Experience and Qualifications :

  • High School diploma required. Post secondary courses completed, certificates earned, and / or Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience preferred performing variety of general office duties and basic bookkeeping functions, and interfacing directly with customers.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Good computer skills; experienced with a variety of software.
  • Good communication skills; written, oral, listening.
  • Good interpersonal skills; enjoys & supports team environment. Self motivated, adaptable and goal orientated.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards both professionally and personally; ability to recognize and maintain confidential information.
  • Very reliable and dependable.
  • Additional Considerations :

  • Possesses the ability and willingness to lift, bend, push, pull materials, tables, chairs, boxes, etc., with or without reasonable accommodation, as may be necessary to ensure that office and storage areas are orderly, and to arrange and set-up for meetings, classes and other events.
  • Means to travel independently to locations other than GAAR to attend meetings and events and / or conduct Association business.
