Who we want:
Pre-Kindergarten Partnership Teacher strongly understands early childhood pedagogy and instructional practices to deliver high-quality and developmentally appropriate instruction to 3 and 4-year-old children. The PKP teacher is responsible for planning and implementing engaging, culturally sensitive, and curriculum-aligned lesson plans in a PK classroom located in a community-based child development center. This partnership stewards funds from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through AISD to highly-rated local child development centers to provide high-quality early childhood education that ensures Kindergarten readiness for children in at-risk populations around Austin. This program ensures that any child can receive high-quality Pre-K while still getting all-day care.

- PKP also offers full scholarships to participating teachers who hope to acquire a Texas teaching certification (EC-6) while teaching in our program.

What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Current Texas EC-6 certification
- Bachelor’s degree in HDFS (Child Development)
- Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and experience working in early childhood with a commitment to continue education in the area of early childhood
- Have Montessori certification through the Association of Montessori International or Montessori Accreditation Council for teacher education
- At least eight years experience in NAEYC-accredited accredited child care program; OR
- Have at least three credit hours of early childhood coursework and be enrolled in college-level, credit-bearing early childhood coursework or a CDA course of study through an approved provider
- Experience working with or caring for young children is preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to maintain effective positive classroom management strategies

This position is located in Austin, Texas, and reports directly to the Director, Pre-K Innovation Partnership.
