Summary
We are seeking a vibrant and patient Pre-K teacher with excellent classroom management skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to nurturing and inspiring young minds.
Duties
Instruction Curriculum
Instruct children aged 18 months to 5 years old in activities designed to promote intellectual, creative, physical, and social growth.
Plan and organize individual and group activities that support developmental goals, including games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips.
Prepare and implement curriculum lesson plans (e.g., Frog Street), ensuring they align with developmental milestones.
Demonstrate activities to children and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
Learning Environment
Create a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Organize and arrange both indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use in both learning activities and imaginative play.
Student Observation Development
Observe, evaluate, and document children’s performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Identify signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related issues and discuss them with supervisors, parents, or specialists.
Administer tests to assess children's developmental levels, needs, and potential.
Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
Classroom Management Routine
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures to maintain order.
Develop schedules and routines that ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime.
Ensure the health and safety of all students, including helping with toilet training and diaper changing when necessary.
Communication Parent Engagement
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians.
Communicate regularly with parents on students' progress, growth, and needs.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their child’s progress, needs, and strategies for promoting learning and development.
Discuss individual student needs and progress with other professionals, including administrators and child development specialists.
Teaching Support Collaboration
Support other teachers with meal / snack time and maintaining a clean and organized school environment.
Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of preschool programs.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development workshops to maintain and improve teaching competence.
Administrative Miscellaneous Duties
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws and administrative regulations.
Prepare reports on students and activities as required by the administration.
Perform administrative duties such as hall and cafeteria monitoring and bus loading / unloading.
Serve meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines and teach proper eating habits.
Prepare materials and classrooms for daily activities.
Organize, store, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
Professional Growth Development
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to improve teaching skills.
Confer with other staff members to plan, schedule, and implement lessons that promote learning.
Enforce all administrative policies and rules governing students.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Ability to pass all background checks
Experience working in a licensed childcare center
Proficient in speaking and writing English
Degree in education, with a focus on early childhood development, is a big plus.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice To Haves
CDA or BA in Early Childhood Education
Familiarity with Conscious Discipline and Frog Street
At least 2 years of experience working with 4-5 years old age group
Ability to build a rapport with the children and their families
