Job Title: Surgical Assistant
Reports to: Team Leader
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Summary: To provide surgical support to doctors and excellent patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Ensures current patient records
? Assists doctors with exams
? Performs X-rays on patients, as needed
? Reviews medical history with patients
? Ensures proper consent forms are signed by patient and/or guardian
? Prepare patient prescriptions accurately
? Performs blood pressure checks, EKG monitoring, Pulse Oximeter monitoring
? Records accurate anesthesia record charting
? Records accurate vital signs
? Maintain clear airways on sedated patients; performs suction on sedated patients
? Performs post-op patient monitoring, including staying with patient until caretaker arrives
? Assist with cleaning and preparing surgical rooms
? Provides support for ongoing surgeries
? Maintains upmost confidentiality
? Any duties required to maintain patient flow and any other extra duties office clinical manager assigns
