Job Overview
The Child Care Navigator is a grant-funded position that will develop, implement, and manage innovative programs that address child care access challenges, enhance workforce support, and promote community well-being. This includes overseeing the Waitlist Prioritization Program and other strategic initiatives that connect businesses, families, and child care providers to create sustainable, scalable solutions. Typical hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8:30 to 4:30 pm and nights and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Program Leadership: Design, implement, and manage child care initiatives, including the waitlist prioritization platform and other innovative community-based programs.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain partnerships with local child care providers, businesses, and community organizations to support and expand child care services.
  • Business Engagement: Promote program benefits to businesses, secure memberships or sponsorships, and demonstrate how programs support workforce retention and recruitment.
  • Family Support: Assist families in accessing child care resources, platforms, and services, ensuring equitable and user-friendly experiences.
  • Community Outreach: Collaborate with Greater Gallatin United Way, Northern Rocky Mountain Economic Development District, the CHILD Task Force, and other stakeholders to drive awareness and participation.
  • Program Monitoring and Evaluation: Track metrics, generate reports, and provide data-driven recommendations for program improvements and expansion.
  • Resource Development: Identify funding opportunities, assist in creating sustainability plans, and develop strategies to address unmet child care needs.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Undertake tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO and Director of Early Learning to support organizational goals and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, education, social work, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in program coordination, child care services, or community engagement preferred.
  • Preferred experience working in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in technology, including data tracking and program management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Computer / Software Skills: Proficiency in typing and data entry; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Experience with CRM / fundraising software.

Physical Demands: While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and use hands to handle, finger or feel objects. Requires close and distant vision skills.

Transportation: It is necessary for the employee to utilize their personal transportation while carrying out their duties.

Business travel within the business area is required; mileage reimbursement provided at IRS rate.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
