This position is seasonal (June-August, Monday-Friday)
Pay is $600 per week, with the opportunity to earn an additional $50 per week for overnight stays on Thursdays, providing extra flexibility and earning potential.

Essential Functions
- Provide leadership and supervision to a small group of campers engaged in a safe and educational outdoor recreational experience.
- Build close relationships, be a positive role model, and facilitate physical and emotional safety ensuring them a pleasant camp experience.
- Lead progressive program activities such as: Kayaking, Swimming, Arts and Crafts, Target Sports, Hiking, Field Sports, Biking, Low Ropes Course, Outdoor Skills, and Nature Exploration.
- Attend and contribute to all staff trainings, meetings, and events.
- Maintain a professional appearance and be prepared to make all parents, families, and campers feel comfortable with all questions answered.
- Work with leadership team to manage camper behaviors, use effective/appropriate discipline techniques, and ask for assistance as needed.
- Maintain a safe environment for all campers. In the event of an emergency, serve as a first responder (responding, reporting, and preventing.)
- Serve as a lifeguard when assigned to ensure safe swimming and waterfront activities.
- Assist with camp clean-up.
- Supervise campers for at least one Thursday overnight camping experience.
- Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked, routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker rooms and bathrooms), etc.
- Ensure children are properly signed in and out, ensure only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.
- Camp Counselors must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED. College courses or credits in child development are preferred. Experience in day or resident camping preferred.
- Leadership skills, excellent organizational and communication skills, a cooperative attitude, and the ability to work with and understand the needs of children in a camp atmosphere required.
- Counselors must enjoy working with youth in an exciting outdoor environment and have some demonstrated leadership abilities in this capacity.
- Ability to think flexibly and adjust to the unpredictability of camp life. Anything can happen!
- Sufficient visual, auditory, communicative, and cognitive abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
- First Aid and CPR Certification required prior to the beginning of camp (training available).
- Lifeguard certification preferred (training available). You will be required to swim 300 yards continuously; perform a surface dive to depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10lb object from the bottom of the pool; and tread water for 2 minutes.
- Considerable physical movement to include running, walking, hiking, boating, swimming, games, etc., required. Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds with or without assistance.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned start and end locations, including bus sites and camp, ensuring punctuality and consistency in fulfilling job responsibilities.
