Job Title: Group Leader Department: School Age
Reports To: School Age Director/Site Coordinator
Status: Part Time (Non-Exempt) Revision Date: 1/25/2021
POSITION SUMMARY:
A group leader is a role model who can assist with academic support and character development. Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, a group leader plans and organizes groups pertaining to school age children and administer special activities, and implements daily activities relating to arts & crafts, physical activities and sports, character and team building exercises, and others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely with Site Coordinator to plan and implement developmentally appropriate
- Ensure and maintain quality of program and that it meets EEC Licensing Requirements, QRIS
- Standards, YMCA of USA Initiatives (Active Learning and HEPA Initiatives) and complies with all
- safety
- Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of children, lesson planning and daily attendance.
- Keep safety as a number one priority. Emphasize personal safety and emotional well-being of all staff, volunteers, members, students, families and program participants using the YMCA classrooms and indoor/facility.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the childcare
- By personal example help interpret quality of YMCA core values of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor (remains flexible).
- Traveling up to 25%-50% of the time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school degree required; some college preferred. At least 18 years of age.
