Job Overview:
As an Electrical Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering instruction to students enrolled in our electrical programs. Using the NCCER curriculum, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through topics such as electrical safety, intro to the NEC, and residential electrical services, preparing them for success in the industry. The position works from 5:30-9:30 one evening per week through the school year.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons following the curriculum guidelines for electrical programs.
- Instruct students on electrical theory, practical applications, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Create and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands-on activities to enhance the learning experience.
- Demonstrate proper electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques in a workshop setting.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Stay current with industry advancements, changes in electrical codes, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician with a minimum of 6 years of practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and the National Electrical Code.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex electrical concepts to students.
- Previous teaching or training experience is a plus.
- Commitment to safety practices and the ability to instill a culture of safety in students.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $36.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 5 per week
