Job Summary

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Several disciplines in the Trades Technology Department, including the Electrical Technology Program (ELTE), share a 100-level course in Industrial/Construction Safety. This course covers safety in the industrial workplace and on construction worksites and local, state and federal safety regulations. The focus of the course is on the prevention of accidents, but it also teaches the correct response if an accident should occur. First aid, CPR/AED and OSHA-30 certificates will be issued to students upon successful completion of the course. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications

Two (2) years’ experience in a relevant industry field

Possess an OSHA 10-hour/30-hour Trainer Certification OR, fulfill the requirements necessary to obtain an OSHA 10-hour/30-hour Trainer Certification (per requirements listed below) within one semester from hire and before being assigned a section to teach.

Requirements For OSHA Trainer Certificate Are

  • Five (5) years’ experience in general industry safety. A college degree in occupational safety and health, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OR Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Complete the OSHA course #511, Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry OR the OSHA #510 course Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction. This course covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards as well as general industry safety and health principles.
  • The applicant must complete OSHA course #501, Trainer Course in OSHA Standards. The two previous requirements must be fulfilled before this class can be taken.

The credential evaluation must be submitted with the application materials.
