Greater Midland – Swim Instructor
The Position
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Swim Instructor is responsible for following swim- based curriculum, and for the high-quality instruction for swim technique, form and safety. Swim participants are typically between ages 3-13 and vary from beginner to experienced swimmers. The Swim Instructor must also maintain high personal standards, adhere to, and carry out the mission of the Greater Midland Community Center.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Ensure high quality programs that are results-based driven, with proper planning and engaging lesson plans.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland Staff and Volunteers.
- Ensure that character development is present in all programs (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).
- Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and center goals/objectives.
- Consistently demonstrates leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values.
Qualification Requirements
- Passion for aquatic safety and swim skill development.
- Experience working with youth (Preferred).
- Experience in an aquatic setting (Preferred).
- Minimum age of 16.
- Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Schedule
Monday through Wednesday from 4:30p to 7p; Saturday from 9a to 11:30a
