Overview
Greater Minnesota Gas, Inc. (GMG) is seeking a skilled Natural Gas Measurement Technician to join our team. The position will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing gas measurement and regulating equipment, to ensure safety compliance, measurement accuracy and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Performs general upkeep, preventable maintenance and routine inspection on gas measurement and regulating equipment on specified schedules and on an as needed basis.
- Installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating various mechanical and electronic equipment along with completing all appropriate documentation associated with this type of work.
- Assist in the installation, operation and maintenance of natural gas odorization equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair gas leaks or malfunctions.
- Monitor and adjust pressure regulating equipment as needed.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge and skills to address equipment issues.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations to program and install gas measurement equipment.
- Install, program, troubleshoot and maintain cellular or radio communication devices related to natural gas pressure monitoring and measurement.
- Provide support for design, layout, sizing and equipment specifications for large regulation or measurement design projects.
- Must respond to call outs and emergencies during and after business hours as needed.
- Participates in company's rotating after hours on-call schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in oil & gas industry.
- 1 year of experience as a Gas Measurement Technician.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Familiarity with natural gas safety protocols.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Drug Test and Background Check.
- Some overnight travel will be required.
- Position may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
