The Controller manages the finance department providing information, primarily financial in nature, regarding all organization activities that will assist the board of directors, management, and other users in making educated economic decisions regarding the organization's future.
Who we’re looking for:
- A Business Professional; knowledgeable of all standard accounting-operating procedures with the ability to perform all accounting functions.
- Someone well informed of federal and state grant reporting.
- Experienced with GAAP and Internal Control Principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Attention to detail and the need for accuracy is necessary.
- Must be proficient in the use of Excel.
Essential Functions:
- Leads the month-end close process, ensuring timely preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules, and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Monitors departmental spending versus budget and advises leadership on emerging financial trends to support informed decision making.
- The ability to identify and resolve financial issues
- Able to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to internal and external partners.
- Coordinates the annual budget process and prepares detailed supporting documents.
- Carries out other responsibilities as directed by management.
- Responsible for supervising accounting staff.
- Manages the accounts payable processes.
- Manages third-party audits and financial systems.
- Monitors and enforces internal control systems to ensure the security and integrity of organizational assets.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP and oversees timely filing of required financial reports and tax returns.
- Supports executive leadership with strategic financial analysis and long-term planning initiatives.
