What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Environmental Education Instructor position at GREATER NEWARK CONSERVANCY?
Duties:
- Lead field trip sessions at Greater Newark Conservancy’s Urban Environmental Center
- Provide hands-on, interdisciplinary/interactive learning experiences for students.
- Utilize the garden galleries at the GNC for conducting environmental programs.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure the success of the programs.
- Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment for students.
- Maintain statistical records and student and teacher program evaluations.
- Occasionally conduct school garden environmental education programs at local schools
Skills:
- Passion for environmental education and a strong desire to share that passion with students.
- Experience in teaching or environmental education is preferred.
- Ability to work well with students of various ages and learning abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- BA/BS in education, environmental studies, or related filed preferred
- Motivated, Outgoing and Friendly
- Must enjoy working with young children.
- Must be able to lift 30lbs.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese helpful
