Greater Newark Tennis and Education 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is seeking a passionate and qualified individual to join our team in the greater Newark/ Northern New Jersey area. GNTE’s mission is to empower kids to reach their potential through sport and education. GNTE combines tennis programming for kids 7--18 with an educational curriculum focused on building confidence, self-esteem, and critical thinking skills. We are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial, and self-starting person to implement and manage our program administration , interacting with the parents, kids and other staff. This position requires excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills. Prior experience administrating similar programs is ideal.
The Program Manager position is a contract position for the 2025 season, which will span approximately 7 months- April through October. The Program Manager will be expected to work an average of 10/20 hours per week and be on site during program hours. The Program Manager will report to the Greater Newark Tennis and Education Board Chair.
Responsibilities of the position:
- Directs and supervises day to day program activities to meet GNTE objectives.
- Coordinate marketing to promote and market upcoming programs.
- Manage Volunteer Program- scheduling, follow up.
- On site during program hours for supervision of activities and parent/kid engagement.
- Coordinate scheduling and operations for all programming and special events.
- Contribute to social media by providing content such as pictures, videos, and write-ups following events and programs.
- Execute season surveys and compile program statistics.
- Organize and coordinate activations at events.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Respond to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner.
- General support to Board members and Head of Racquets.
Qualifications:
- Prior supervisory experience or relevant experience (Minimum 1-2 years preferred)
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Strong working knowledge of Mail Chimp, Wordpress, Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Entrepreneurial and impeccable time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Social media and communications experience desired
- Passion for youth development
