The Manager of Collective Impact manages the workflow of the Collective Impact functional area. The Collective Impact team implements the Food Bank's collective impact approach in target communities by facilitating strategic conversations and fostering shared decision-making to establish place-based, community-led solutions to address hunger and its root causes. The Manager supports the team in achieving its goals and objectives as well as the programmatic, business, and strategic plans of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. 

Requirements

  

Collective Impact Initiative

  • Provides day-to-day oversite of the Collective Impact functional area to ensure the success of the Collective Impact Initiative, including managing workflow and assigning tasks. 
  • Drives continual improvement by generating new and innovative solutions to business issues or problems by adjusting existing practices and creating new methods for planning, designing, and carrying out project goals and objectives.
  • Analyzes programmatic and community data to identify a course of action and continuously evaluates progress to pivot or course correct as needed.
  • Manages annual budget for the Collective Impact Initiative and other relevant project budgets. 
  • Conducts progress and follow-up meetings with impact grant awardees to evaluate outcomes and complete project reports. 
  • Supports team members in facilitating regular working group and subcommittee meetings with community leaders. participating in the Collective Impact Initiative as needed.  
  • Works with the Information Technology team to implement tools to coordinate quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis for the Collective Impact Initiative.
  • Supports the Director in documenting best practices for internal and external stakeholders, including the funder of the Collective Impact Initiative and providing information for grant proposals and reports.
  • Identifies new and emerging best practices for collective impact and community engagement to ensure the success of the Collective Impact Initiative. 
  • Engages in local, regional, and national conversations about collective impact and community-led solutions to address hunger and its root causes. 
  • Respects the geographic and cultural diversity of the network and community partners and their participants by becoming familiar with customs and behaviors at various locations. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


Supervision & Management

  • Manages and supervises the Collective Impact team including Community Specialists and Administrative Assistant, which includes managing a dynamic team schedule, recruiting and training new team members as needed, evaluating individual and team performance, coaching team members, and identifying professional development opportunities.
  • Cultivates a high-performance, results-oriented culture by maintaining positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Shares information with the team about department and/or organization-wide communications. 
  • Empowers others by organizing teamwork to encourage cooperation and coordinates complementary skills and expertise to achieve team goals.
  • Monitors workload of reporting staff and assigns and/or modifies tasks as needed.
  • Manages conflicts constructively so that disagreements lead to useful and productive discussions. 
  • Oversees resolution of employee relations issues, including performance improvement. 
  • Leads practices that support equity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility.  


Qualifications

  • Experience with project development, implementation, and evaluation preferred. 
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. 
  • Experience with supervision and/or mentorship preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably and confidently exercise flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Exemplary problem-solving and interpersonal skills; must be able to lead a team through unexpected challenges quickly, calmly, and effectively. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and execute with minimal direction to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a broad, strategic perspective while also focusing on crucial details. 
  • Disposition and willingness to innovate, problem-solve, test, evaluate, and adjust. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including translating and communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support the achievement of all project goals and objectives. 
  • Must possess a vehicle and a valid Driver’s license. If required, work travel throughout the Food Bank’s 11-county service area is reimbursed at the federal reimbursement rate.
  • Ability to obtain Act 33 and Act 34 certificates.
