What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEACHER; NEW VISIONS ENGINEERING position at Greater Southern Tier BOCES?
Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10-month School Calendar Position
- Instruct secondary students in the area of Engineering
- Instruct students in the New Visions Engineering Curriculum
- Instruct ACE Courses incorporated into the New Visions Engineering Program
- Administer standardized tests to assess the strength and skills of the student
- Draft appropriate annual goals and short term objectives on a regular basis throughout the school year
- Monitor student progress
- Keep abreast of changes and developments in the field by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications
- Consult regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of the student
- Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
- Carry out all other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Valid NYS Certification in the area of Engineering, Secondary Math, or Physics
- Experience in the Engineering Field
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
