What are the responsibilities and job description for the Conservation Corps Leader III- Sonora position at Greater Valley Conservation Corps- Sonora?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent of the completion of the twelfth grade. Possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain a good driving record. Experience working and/or training people of various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Must be able to work weekends and have the flexibility to work various work shifts. Must be able to support in both recycling and natural resource related projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Work effectively with school districts, sponsors, community organizations, government agencies, corpsmembers, and/or staff.
Maintain confidentiality on issues concerning program and staff.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Motivate young people to fulfill their professional development goals and expand their work skills.
Transport corpsmembers to and from worksites (Forestry, landscaping, fuel load reduction, habitat restoration, conservation projects).
Oversee the crew in the completion of service projects including maintenance natural resources, and conservaiton.
Ensure safe work practices, a safe work environment and the proper maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and tools.
Ensure that a consistent high quality of work is performed on natural resource and conservation projects.
At project worksites, serve as liaison between project sponsoring agency staff and your supervisor.
Implement work projects timely and efficiently from start to finish.
Ensure the appropriate equipment is available to corpsmembers.
Plan and carry out assigned crew scheduling.
Complete daily crew logs, and vehicle mileage logs.
Conduct daily safety tailgate meetings.
Counsel, motivate, and provide constructive discipline for corpsmembers.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.24 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
