We are looking for a highly motivated individual to maintain and grow our wholesale/commercial business. By providing exemplary personalized customer service, increase sales and loyalty among existing accounts and proactively seeking out and developing new accounts.
The Contractor Sales Position is responsible for managing all aspects of the wholesale/commercial accounts – relationship-building, cashiering, placing special orders, pre-pulling orders, account creation and account maintenance in the system, pulling reports, tracking sales, and maintaining account records in the database. This position requires frequent, detail-oriented communication with buyers and vendors
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities::
- Provide outstanding customer service to Green Acres Nursery & Supply customers, with specific focus on contractor business; make it easy for contractors to obtain plant materials and supplies from Green Acres to fulfill the needs of their customers.
- Respond timely to contractor calls and emails; demonstrate superior phone and email etiquette as well as timely and thorough follow up; obtain all necessary information to effectively service the customer.
- Prepare quotes and execute sales orders for contractors in a timely manner, suggest suitable substitutes for plants as may be needed to complete orders; make product suggestions and follow up as needed to maximize each sale.
- Suggest add-on sales to ensure success for contractors and end-user customers with plant purchases and increase store sales, i.e. soils, amendments, fertilizers, stakes, etc.
- Handle outstanding and in-process items efficiently and timely.
- Pull plant material to fulfill contractor orders.
- Maintain contractor sales hold area in an efficient and organized manner; ensure plants are watered as needed; review daily with Store Manager.
- Proficient use of POS to accurately execute quotes, orders and sales transactions; accurately handle cash and credit card transactions, including contractor and employee discounts.
- Maintain accurate inventory by making sure all items are received and taken out of inventory properly.
- Inform Department Heads of low supply of product or frequently requested items.
- Maintain neat, professional appearance at all times, including personal appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Execute any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Weekend availability; Flexibility regarding shifts and hours
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged standing and walking up to 100% of shift
- Bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, stretching, squatting and kneeling – primarily in relation to movement and placement of product and assisting customers with product, as well as with use of pallet jacks for moving product
- Exposure to all types of weather
