Responsibilities: - Provide attentive care and supervision to animals in the kennel, prioritizing their safety and welfare. - Handle animals, particularly dogs, with gentleness and attentiveness to ensure their comfort. - Assist in feeding, grooming, and administering medications following instructions from veterinarians or pet owners. - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kennels, play areas, and equipment to uphold sanitation standards. - Monitor animals for any signs of distress, illness, or injury, promptly reporting concerns to the appropriate staff members. - Engage animals in playtime activities to promote physical exercise and mental stimulation. - Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering updates on their pets' well-being and behavior. - Aid in animal restraint when necessary for grooming or veterinary procedures. Skills: - Prior experience in dog handling, veterinary environments, animal shelters, or related settings is beneficial. - Knowledge of animal behavior, basic grooming techniques, and safe handling practices is advantageous. - Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and patience. - Strong customer service skills with the capacity to interact positively with pet owners and team members. - Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, including lifting heavy objects and prolonged standing. - Flexibility to work varying shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
