POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for leading and implementing the organization's marketing and communications strategies. This role plays a critical part in promoting the YMCA's mission, programs, and services to the community, donors, members, and stakeholders. The Marketing Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and outreach efforts that drive engagement and support for the YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develop and Execute Marketing Strategy:
- Develop an annual marketing and communication plan. Monitor the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met.
- Identify target audiences and develop tailored messaging for each segment.
- Plan and manage marketing budgets to achieve desired results.
2. Brand Management:
- Maintain and enhance the YMCA brand identity across all channels.
- Ensure consistency and compliance in branding, logo usage, and messaging.
- Monitor and enforce brand guidelines within the organization.
- Ensure all marketing materials comply with legal and ethical standards.
3. Digital Marketing:
- Oversee the organization's online presence, including the website and social media.
- Create and share daily content to the YMCA’s social media platforms that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to become a member, join a program, or donate to the YMCA.
- Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to increase awareness and engagement.
- Monitor and analyze website and social media metrics to optimize performance.
4. Content Creation and Management:
- Create engaging and informative content for various marketing channels.
- Design and distribute marketing materials (including but not limited to: Annual/Capital Campaign materials, annual program guide, weekly e-newsletter, print/digital ads).
- Produce and distribute program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with membership and marketing plans.
- Manage the production of multimedia content such as videos and podcasts.
5. Public Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local media outlets.
- Develop and distribute press releases and media kits.
6. Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with community partners and organizations to enhance the YMCA's visibility.
- Organize and participate in community events and outreach programs.
- Perform community presentations about YMCA programs and initiatives.
7. Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Provide regular reports and analysis to assess ROI and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Use data to make informed decisions and optimize marketing efforts.
- Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
8. Team Collaboration and Development:
- Collaborate with the Membership Coordinator and Director of Operations to enhance our corporate membership program. Create and implement referral programs with local organizations.
- Work closely with other program directors on marketing/promotion to ensure consistent messaging around the Y as a cause-driven charitable organization while promoting YMCA programming and membership.
- Assure your own self-development through research, reading, and conference/training attendance; follow marketing and technology trends and implement.
9. Additional Duties:
- Assist with the planning and execution of all Y events, and represents the Y at community engagement events.
- Supports, and serves as backup coverage for front desk operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or other related field is required.
2. Minimum of five or more years of progressive marketing and communication experience with proven record of successful design and implementation of marketing strategies.
3. Experience developing content for various communication tools including websites, newsletters, brochure and blogs is required.
4. Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
5. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills, perceives, understands and manages interactions appropriately, is accountable for own actions, capitalizes on learning opportunities and is open to performance feedback and coaching.
6. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment across all levels of the organization is required.
7. Minimum of three years of experience in professional graphic design. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or similar graphic design software.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
