Job Title: Client Success Manager / Account Manager - Government Contracting
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Client Success Manager / Account Manager (CSM/AM) to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with our clients, primarily government contractors, throughout the lifecycle of their proposal efforts. This role will combine client management, proposal oversight, and business development to ensure the success of client engagements, build long-term relationships, and identify new sales opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of government contracting, proposal processes, and sales strategies. They will be a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who can manage multiple opportunities and clients, ensuring their satisfaction while seeking new ways to add value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service and support throughout their proposal efforts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations.
- Regularly check in with clients to understand their needs, challenges, and future goals.
- Proposal Oversight & Support:
- Coordinate with the internal resources (e.g., proposal managers, writers, and subject matter experts) to ensure alignment with client requirements, timely delivery, and quality.
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify new opportunities for clients by analyzing federal government procurement forecasts, agency requirements, and upcoming opportunities.
- Work with clients to develop strategies for pursuing new contracts, including expanding into new markets or agencies.
- Drive revenue growth by proposing additional services and solutions to meet clients' evolving needs.
- Lead the effort to renew contracts or expand engagements based on the client's success and satisfaction.
- Client Success & Satisfaction:
- Monitor and assess client satisfaction, using feedback to continuously improve the proposal and capture process.
- Work closely with clients to ensure that their expectations are met or exceeded throughout the lifecycle of a proposal.
- Resolve any client issues or challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive experience.
- Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., proposal, legal, and compliance) to ensure the smooth execution of client proposals and contracts.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on the status of client engagements, sales pipeline, and new opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in account management, client success, or sales within the government contracting space.
- Strong understanding of federal government procurement processes, RFPs, and the proposal lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and proposals simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and project management software is preferred.
- A background in business development and identifying new opportunities within the government sector is a major plus.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Government Contracting, or related field.
- 5 years of experience working in government contracting, proposal management, or business development.
- Familiarity with federal agencies and their contracting mechanisms.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
