Special Needs/Education Preschool Teacher
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children with autism, ADHD or other non-typical children. As the Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care and education to students with diverse learning needs in a childcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individual Child Care Program Plan (ICCPs) that coincide with the child's Individual education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support and guidance to students in areas such as social- emotional development, physical therapy, speech therapy, deaf education, and behavioral health
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students
- Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
- Passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Pass the DHS Background Study including providing fingerprints for the study.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience Early Childhood Settings
- Completed CDA or similar educational courses
- Understanding of Early Intervention and best practices
- Background knowledge in Neurodiversity
