What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worship Pastor position at Green Meadows Baptist Church?
WORSHIP PASTOR
Purpose: The primary function of this position is to lead all aspects of the worship ministry and secondarily to assist the Senior Pastor in managing the congregational needs of the church.
Responsibilities:
- Worship
- Lead a worship ministry that is biblical, God-glorifying, celebratory, reverent, and values participation over performance
- Recruit volunteers and oversee the ongoing development of worship teams (including but not limited to vocalists, instrumentalists, and technology team members)
- Prayerfully collaborate with the Senior Pastor in planning all regular worship services (2 on Sunday morning, 1 on Wednesday) and special events (e.g. VBS, Christmas, Easter, community outreach, etc.)
- Leads all aspects of the worship ministry with excellence and intentionality Seek to maintain a blended style of worship
- Incorporate a variety of worship elements, including but not limited to, Scripture reading, prayer, confession, thanksgiving as well as a variety of musical styles, tempos, and formats
- Schedule and oversee regular worship team practices
- Plan and administer a yearly budget for the worship ministry
- Ministry Support
- Serve as liaison between Senior Pastor and key committees throughout the year to ensure that the committees are regularly meeting and properly functioning
- Be a point of contact for receiving and prioritizing pastoral care needs (including physical needs, visitations, benevolence, weddings, funerals, and cemetery questions). Provide follow up with staff to ensure that needs are met.
- Help plan, coordinate, and implement church events
- Work with Facility Manager and Ministry Assistant to oversee church facility requests
- Help to develop, implement, and update churchwide policies and processes that provide staff and volunteers with clear direction to safely and effectively do the ministry of the church
- Be available to lead staff meetings, new members classes, preach, and conduct pastoral counseling as needed
- Provide key direction to another ministry area (e.g. Men’s Ministry, Senior Adult Ministry, Missions/Evangelism)
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Requirements:
- Born again believer in Jesus Christ
- Have a calling to vocational ministry
- Be a person of high character and integrity as exemplified by Scripture
- Be or become a member of GMBC
- Agree with the BFM 2000
- Be a team player who is able to communicate well and build up others
- Able to play an instrument
- Ability to use and train others to use church administrative and worship technology
- Possess organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a ministry-related field) or relevant experience (4 years)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
