SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of scrap steel warehouse.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures all plant employees conduct operations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures all plant areas meet safety requirements.
- Operates equipment such as Overhead Crane, Scrap Handler, Forklift, Yard Dog, Track Mobile, Baler machine and any other equipment as needed.
- Monitors overall performance of receiving, inspection, and shipping functions.
- Monitors and controls inventory, storage layout and design.
- Participates and provides leadership for preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste and quality problems for stored product.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining work instructions, process procedures and standards for plant functions.
- Participates and provides leadership for the continuous improvement program (kaizen).
- Assists in developing self-sufficient preventative maintenance program.
- Assists in implementation and monitoring of GMI environmental matters.
- Prepares and presents various reports as requested by management.
- Promotes goodwill of company at all times.
- Assists with interviewing for plant positions.
- Makes recommendations to Manager for training needs, performance reviews and any potential disciplinary actions involving team members.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED
Two year degree from a college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

$25 per hour
