Green Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation -
This position is a combination of Dietary Aide and Prep Cook at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Colchester, VT.
- Setting up trays and loading them on carts for delivery to residents
- Stocking unit kitchens with snacks etc.
- Washing dishes using dishwasher and returning them to the proper storage areas
- Keep dish room, storage areas, and all carts clean
- Helps maintain store room in orderly condition
- Performs other kitchen cleaning duties as assigned
DUTIES :
- Help the cook prepare for meals - Prepare cooking ingredients, washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meats, measuring ingredients to be used in the meal.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, small entrees, etc...
- Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food.
- Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods
- Ability to follow recipes with little to no supervision.
- Baking a variety of rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies
- Working on tray line during meal service
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing of pots and pans and kitchen surfaces.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Perform other related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum one (1) year of experience cooking in health care a plus
- Must be able to do some physical work
- Should be a strong team player
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent customer service & communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
- Must be able to work every other weekend and shared holidays.
