This position sits within the International Programs (IP) Department, which provides comprehensive services to support international students, including admissions, housing, payment processing and health insurance, F-1 visa and immigration support, academic and transfer advising, first-term peer mentoring support, High School Completion, Intensive English instruction, and study abroad opportunities for both local and international students.
This position leads the International Advising, High School Completion, and first-term peer mentoring programs to support student recruitment and retention and meet the international enrollment goals of the college. This position is responsible for tracking and managing international enrollment as well as facilitating collaborative enrollment management meetings. The position is a key member of the IP Operations and Management Teams which coordinate departmental operations and strategic planning. The position serves as the IP representative in cross-campus meetings focused on advising and enrollment management. The position reports to the Vice President of International Programs and Extended Learning (IPEL).

Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Leadership within the International Programs Office
Foster an innovative, entrepreneurial culture focused on delivering outstanding customer service and world-class global learning experiences
Lead International Advising, High School Completion, Foundation for Success, and International Student Success teams in delivering personal, relationship-based care through advising, mentoring, and instruction for international students in areas including: cultural, academic, university transfer, personal, immigration, employment, and health
Lead continuous improvement of International Program’s outstanding and competitive advising program with a focus on nationwide university transfer in collaboration with the IP Marketing Team and other areas of IPEL
Hire, train, manage, supervise, schedule, and evaluate performance of classified and exempt employees in keeping with relevant contractual agreements
Manage self-support budgets for International Advising, High School Completion, and College Prep programs
Market and promote GRC’s educational programs and services to students, parents, international partners, and organizations
Facilitate meetings of the International Enrollment Team to achieve shared awareness of critical issues impacting GRC’s international student enrollment and spur collaborative innovation related to priority recruitment and retention initiatives
Create and maintain weekly and annual enrollment reports to track trends and analyze how to enhance student recruitment, retention and university transfer outcomes
Develop tracking systems to monitor student satisfaction and success
Lead the advising team in developing and maintaining relationships, events and resources to support key university transfer pathways for international students
Maintain awareness of relevant industry trends and best practices and contribute to environmental scanning and forecasting
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve transfer advising resources
Serve as lead advisor for designated student population
Facilitate International Student Success classes, as needed
Collaboration within the International Programs Office
Serve as member of the IP Operations Team, a facilitated, self-directed work team, to coordinate and manage IP operation
Serve as member of the IPEL Management Team to contribute to strategic planning
Engage in IP Marketing meetings to support IP Marketers
In collaboration with the Senior Director of International Student Services & Operations, review and maintain policies and information related to non-immigrant (F-1) visa status for current students; supervise the IP advising team in troubleshooting and managing current student immigration status issues
In collaboration with Senior Director of International Student Services & Operations, provide assistance with crisis management
Develop and implement recruitment and retention initiatives and advising improvements in collaboration with Advising Team, Marketing Team, and other areas of IPEL
Campus Leadership
Serve as the departmental representative in cross-campus meetings focused on advising and strategic and operational enrollment management
Cultivate and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with Academic Deans, Faculty, Career and Advising Center, Student Affairs, and the Welcome Center
Contribute to campus leadership to support advancement of the College’s goals and priorities and fulfillment of its equity-centered mission
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in alignment with the college’s equity-centered mission, vision, values, and goals
Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated ability to develop and build relationships
Experience and proven ability to hire, supervise, train, evaluate performance, and lead team of classified and exempt staff
Ability to lead with cultural humility and vulnerability and collaborate effectively with other management team members as well as with faculty and staff across campus
Demonstrated intercultural competency with experience, expertise, and commitment to equity in working with students, communities, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, identities and intersections
Possess and demonstrate strong organizational and management skills
Ability to develop and manage self-support budgets
Experience in advising, marketing, recruitment, outreach, and admission
Ability to analyze and implement enrollment management strategies
Ability to use and learn appropriate technology including MS Office and social media
Policy and procedures development
Ability to work within legal and ethical guidelines for WA state higher education institutions
