Responsibilities
Assists the AVP, Accounting with the following duties:
- Perform month-end close responsibilities, including preparing journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, financial statement review and flux analysis.
- Ensure that corporate credit cards and bank accounts are reconciled on a timely basis and that reconciling items are identified, accurately documented, and resolved quickly.
- Assist with reviewing Green Street’s annual financial statements and footnote disclosure, and preparing documentation support to external auditors.
- Support in coordination of external audit for Green Street and its affiliates.
- Ensure that invoices are properly approved, paid in a timely manner and expenses are properly classified.
- Develop expertise in the order process, connections between SalesForce, NetSuite, and AvaTax, and be point person on new item setup and testing.
- Work with AVP, Accounting and external tax advisors on tax provisions, returns, and notices.
- Review and reconcile the Company’s monthly state sales tax filings and perform physical and economic nexus analysis to determine potential liability in each US state.
- Liaise between the Accounting Department and various other departments to gather information and support company initiatives (i.e., Advisory, Sales, Human Resources, Technology).
- Proactively identify issues, recommend process updates, and work with AVP, Accounting to implement improvements for efficiency, controls, and accuracy.
- Manage and review tasks completed by overseas accounting employees.
- Assist in ad-hoc reporting/projects for management and Senior Leadership Team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. CPA preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in all aspects of accounting.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including mastering Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Sumifs and Graphs.
- Prior experience with NetSuite is a plus.
