Responsibilities
- Boat Handling and Docking:
- Assist boaters with docking and undocking of their vessels, ensuring safe and efficient procedures are followed.
- Handle lines, fenders, and other equipment to moor boats securely and protect them from damage.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts or boat lifts to move and transport vessels as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist marina customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information and directions regarding marina facilities, services, and local amenities.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring their needs are met.
- Maintenance and Facility Upkeep:
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of docks, walkways, and other marina areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain fuel dock, ensuring fuel pumps and meters are in working condition, and assist with fueling as necessary.
- Safety and Security:
- Enforce marina rules and regulations to ensure the safety and security of all customers and their property.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or security incidents to the marina management.
- Assist in emergency situations, including rescue operations or the implementation of safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in a marina or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.
- Basic knowledge of boating operations, terminology, and handling techniques.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform manual tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as marina operations necessitate.
