Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate proficiency in using various knives and cutting equipment to break down different cuts of meat into retail portions while minimizing waste.
- Develop a strong understanding of different types of meat, cuts, and grades to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- Ensure that all meat products meet quality standards and adhere to food safety regulations. Monitor temperature controls, storage conditions, and expiration dates to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
- Assist customers with their meat selections, answer questions about products, and provide recommendations on cuts, cooking methods, and meal planning.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, cutting surfaces, and storage areas.
- Adhere to proper sanitation procedures and food safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate with the Meat Manager or supervisor regarding inventory needs, shortages, and product discrepancies.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a butcher or meat cutter in a supermarket, grocery store, or similar environment.
- Proficiency in meat cutting techniques and knife skills.
- Strong knowledge of different types of meat, cuts, and grades.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
