Job Summary: The Document Control Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining all documentation related to the fabrication processes. This role ensures that all documents are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to relevant personnel. Additionally, the Document Control Technician will be responsible for creating and sending transmittals to ensure proper communication and documentation flow. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update document control systems to ensure all documents are current and properly stored.
- Review and verify documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Distribute documents to appropriate personnel and ensure timely receipt.
- Track and manage document revisions and ensure proper version control.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of project documentation.
- Create and send transmittals to ensure proper communication and documentation flow.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards for document control.
- Provide training and support to staff on document control procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of document control processes and systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless document management.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field a plus.
- Previous experience in document control, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for document control.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry documents and files up to 25 pounds.
