This position is responsible for providing instruction and support ensuring student growth as well as current and future success.
The essential functions ensure clarity on the key responsibilities of a math teacher's role in the Greenbrier School District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Curriculum and Instruction
Teaches District approved curriculum dailyCollaboratively participates in and contributes to curriculum development and creation of unit organizersImplements school and / or district curricular and instructional goals, including implementing curriculum unit and developing lesson plans and instructional materialImplements the school and district's Model of InstructionImplements the school and district's Multi Tiered System of Support including :Using evidenced based Tier I instructionCreating and implementing tiered interventions and extensions based on student dataImplements evidenced based assessment and grading practices aligned with district systemsImplements the Science of Reading in all instructionProgress monitors students' growth (academic / social / behavior) and reports monitoring data to Student Intervention TeamCreates and maintains a classroom environment and culture that is inviting to students and conducive and appropriate to learning in both appearance and activitiesEstablishes clear objectives and success criteria for all lessons, units, projects, etc., and communicates these objectives to studentsDevelops and administers content-specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levelsParticipates in the school and district-wide Social and Emotional Learning program and initiativesProfessionalism
