The advanced level class works under general supervision & requires thorough knowledge of administrative policies & procedures, clerical & secretarial procedures in order to provide secretarial & non-routine administrative support (i.e., independently formulates decisions &/or judgments involving non-legal interpretation of policies & procedures as they would apply to given situation to resolve problems, to prepare correspondence &/or reports or to carry out other assignments) & if assigned, acts as lead worker over lower-level administrative &/or office support staff.Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Incumbents may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.)Assist Benefits Technician with preparing and transmitting benefit insurance and wellness program documents, correspondence, and data relating to employee elections, status, and changes including notifications to department contacts for department budget changes from employee elections/changes to department contact and carriers. Update databases and spreadsheets tracking employee data, benefit elections, status, required notifications, and attach related verification documents.Act as department front-line contact for inquiries and issues related to programs and processes. Schedule employees for safety training. Communicate and refer inquiries and issues (as needed) received from all sources (incoming mail, faxes, telephone calls, e-mail, etc.) to RM staff for handling and resolution, including providing files and information as needed. Files department records in appropriate files. Maintain and update tracking records of all county-owned motor vehicles to include acquiring registration and licensure and license plate distribution from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Track and notify agent and fleet carrier of acquisitions and disposals of vehicles off and onto insurance policy. Assist with updated reporting for annual policy renewal then distribute new vehicle insurance cards to departments.Perform new-hire and annual employee driver’s license checks. Work with county department/office contacts to acquire employee data, perform checks through online vendor, report results, and track issues related to the Driver Eligibility Standard.Prepare and assist with outgoing departmental communications to include typing, proofreading, copying, applying postage and mailing. Deliver certified/accountable mail to post office. Accept and pay-in to County Auditor and Treasurer payments made to Risk Mgt for safety training fees and direct-pay premium contributions for COBRA, FMLA and LOA. Monitor, stock, and assemble documents used in department functions including benefit orientation packets, safety training, wellness program, and various reporting forms (accident and incident report forms, traffic violation report forms, inventory informs, etc.)Monitor and track department Records Retention compliance to arrange removal and rotation of files through the active, storage, and purge process. Monitor, order and organize office supplies inventory. Organize department filing system.
