Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with developing and implementing information management systems for the building and an associated not for profit organization. This position will provide helpdesk support, coordinate and monitor all management information system activities including hardware/software installation, data communications, networking and training. This is a “hands on” working position.
Some of the Things You'll Get to Do:
- Provide helpdesk support to all board employees and associated not for profit organization employees.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the board’s computer systems, including hardware, software, internet connections, network applications and voice communications.
- Troubleshoot and repair network errors and malfunctions; provide network maintenance.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of all communications lines and equipment needed for the GCBDD network, both voice and data, postage, Webcheck, and copier equipment, audio and video equipment, and building security equipment.
- The board’s public website and internal web services.
- Assist with the inventory of GCBDD Board owned IT and A/V related equipment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of: Information technology standards and principles; data processing, hardware, networking, and office applications.
- Skills in: Problem identification and solving; helpdesk support/ software troubleshooting techniques; strong interpersonal skills; active listening; quality customer service.
- Ability to: Think logically; ability to resolve problems on own initiative; communicate with staff with non-technical backgrounds; relate to other staff members, county staff, vendors, and the public in general; work independently with little supervision; interpret and carry out complex instructions; manage multiple projects under pressure; exercise sound judgment and discretion in daily responsibilities.
Working Conditions
Some overtime plus weekends may be required. Physical requirements typically include reaching, standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.; Lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 20-30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Involves a significant amount of time in one place. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, and aggressive behavior.
May occasionally work in environments outside of a traditional office setting such as working outside and climbing ladders to pull cable in tight spaces.

Pay: From $24.04 per hour
