JOB DUTIES
- Specialist will perform duties to support and assist the Coordinator inclusive of monitoring, compiling and analyzing of area data, supporting USDA requirements, mentoring, technical assistance, and training to program staff that provide direct and indirect services in the areas of health and nutrition mandates.
- Specialist will assist with the collection of monthly USDA/CACFP data and claims.
- Plans and implements a comprehensive health education program to ensure that staff, children, parents are aware of good health practices. Serves as a resource person for participants, families, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience Qualifications:
· Preferably a four-year degree in health related field
· AA Degree in health or related field with minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
· Complete the Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire
· Expertise and education in social, human development, or family services
· Two years of experience serving families and children or related service delivery is recommended.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to assess and monitor job performance of staff in order to determine training needs and capabilities of staff
· Ability to effectively communicate with community members and groups, managers, regulatory agencies, and families both individually and in group settings
· Ability to supervise and managed staff effectively with the guidelines of the agency’s Head Start/Early Head Start policies and procedures
· Ability to work as a positive team member
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete situations
· Ability to prioritize demands in order to meet requirements and timelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
