Position: Senior Payroll Specialist
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid - Remote with occasional on-site meetings)
Pay: $30 to $35/hour (depending on experience)
Experience: 7 to 10 years of payroll experience in a dedicated payroll function, with multiple states/jurisdictions.
Type: Part-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Day Shift, 20-30 hours per week
Greene Resources is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
- Manage multi-state payroll, including wage and overtime computations, payroll deductions, paycheck advances, bonuses, commissions, fringe benefit reporting, and separation payments.
- Oversee all aspects of payroll, including processing, tax setup and compliance, HRIS configuration, reporting, and compliance auditing using systems like ADP, PayChex, Paycom, Paylocity, Paycor, and Kronos.
- Contribute to payroll and time and attendance system conversions and implementations.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and drive process improvements, ensuring high-quality customer service for employees.
- Serve as an integral part of the HR team, providing expertise in tax audit processes, payroll operations, and the payroll processing lifecycle.
- Coordinate 401(k) contributions and HSA submissions, ensuring accurate data entry into vendor portals.
- Audit and reconcile benefit deductions with election and enrollment data from carrier sites.
- Identify process improvements and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, and review timesheets and time-off requests to address discrepancies.
- Assist with generalist responsibilities (such as benefits administration, onboarding, and offboarding) when needed to maintain a high level of client service.
Position Requirements:
- Working knowledge of payroll processing, taxes, compliance, and auditing.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and diagnose problems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven experience in delivering quality customer service.
