Greene & Schultz Trial Lawyers is a law firm dedicated to helping people who have suffered serious injury and loss. We are a small firm with a family atmosphere located in a beautiful historic building a few blocks from Downtown Bloomington.
The law firm of Greene and Schultz is comprised of caring people who help achieve justice for those who have been hurt or injured by the actions of others. Our practice is focused on three key areas:
- Personal injury
- Workers’ compensation
- Medical malpractice
We are currently seeking someone to join our team as a Paralegal. The Paralegal will help the attorneys with all aspects of case management including:
- Talk to potential new clients and evaluate their situation.
- Set up the claim in case management software system and manage the case from beginning to end.
- Scan and file all correspondence in accordance with established timelines and firm standards.
- Obtain case related records including medical, ER and ambulance records, police reports and photos of damage as applicable.
- Shepherd documents through various parties and respond to requests from outside counsel.
- Oversee client relationship including follow up calls and correspondence.
- Research defendants and applicable partners.
- Draft legal documents including letters of representation to insurance companies, letters of protection, notices to and correspondence with Medicare/Medicaid, discovery, legal memos, pleadings, scheduling orders, lien resolutions, demand letters and proper citation.
- Negotiate healthcare liens and prepare medical billing summaries.
- Prepare medical chronologies, demand brochures, deposition, and mediation materials.
- Proactively managing the case load and calendar to ensure all deadlines are met and appropriate parties notified in a timely manner.
- Other activities as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in plaintiff personal injury and complex litigation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with case management software (i.e., NEOS) is a plus.
- Confidentiality and discretion are necessary.
- Ability to deal with simultaneous projects and competing priorities.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to convey information and ideas through speech in ways that others will understand.
- Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, empathy, and diplomacy in handling sensitive situations.
- Follow established guidelines and procedures and provide support for miscellaneous requests and flex services with a “can do” attitude and philosophy.
- Deliver on commitments in a timely and accurate manner.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
