What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Navigator position at Greenfield Community College?
This is a short term, non-benefitted, grant-funded position.
GCC's Office of Workforce Development seeks a part-time Resource Navigator to help facilitate the implementation of the six-week Paraprofessional training program; to serve as the primary point person for the noncredit students in the program, both in person and via email; and to serve as the primary liaison for the scheduled training providers and mentors. This key position will be responsible for answering student and mentor questions as they arise and communicating consistent updates to the Dean of Workforce Development over the course of the program. Primary tasks include:
- Taking daily attendance at 9am, Mon-Thurs; communicating with the Dean of any absences
- Tracking the schedule of trainers and mentors each week; communicating with trainers and mentors via email to remind them of their scheduled day/time and to inquire about technology and/or supply needs; communicating any specific needs to the Dean of Workforce Development in advance of each trainer's instruction day and/or mentors' community of practice commitment(s)
- Coordinating classroom needs including supplies, technology, etc. with appropriate parties on campus
- Providing support to students both in person and via email who are falling behind on coursework, require assistance with resource navigation, and/or other support that will help students persist in the program
- Tracking outcomes to maintain an accurate record of credentials earned
- Coordinating with employer partner(s) to connect students to job opportunities and/or presentations from employers to the students at the end of the program
Other possible tasks include providing some supplemental support and instruction during the program's learning modules, such as CPI, among others, based on candidates' credentials and experience.
Job Requirements:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree with specialized coursework in field
- Three (3) years of full-time work experience as a practitioner in field
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from a variety of educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
- Must meet all employability requirements of the college
- Para Pro Certification (and/or experience with Para Pro exam)
BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check as a condition of employment.
