What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales Representative position at Greenfield Contractors LLC?
Position Objective: Greenfield Contractors is seeking a full-time Estimator to complete a range of business activities while adhering to professional standards. The ideal candidate would have general construction knowledge of metal, fabric and commercial construction. The Estimator will assist in all aspects of estimating, including design progress budgeting, price control and final estimate pricing, to final job set-up and turnover to the project manager. The Estimator will play a crucial role in accurately assessing the costs and resources required for new construction projects. Your ability to interpret project plans and specifications and provide reliable cost estimates will contribute to the success and profitability of our projects.
Typical workdays are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., although there may be changes based upon project requirements. The typical work week consists of 40 hours but can flex to 50 hours during busy periods or as the projected schedule dictates.
Essential Duties
- Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
- Provide estimates on the costs of labor, equipment, materials, and other resources needed for construction.
- Organize historical data and current research to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with the project management team and suppliers to gather pricing information and validate costs.
- Analyze project risks and contingencies, considering them in the estimation process.
- Collaborate with the project team to explore alternative materials, construction methods, and cost-saving strategies.
- Make recommendations to enhance project profitability while meeting quality and client requirements.
- Identify potential suppliers and subcontractors, soliciting bids and proposals as necessary.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring reliable and competitive pricing.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction materials, technologies, and pricing fluctuations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel to construction sites, as necessary.
Education/Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related area as an individual contributor.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
