Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities:
• Conducting initial and ongoing evaluations of residents' speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
• Identifying communication and swallowing disorders, as well as barriers to effective communication.
• Developing individualized treatment plans to improve residents' ability to speak, comprehend language, and safely eat or drink.
• Providing interventions for speech articulation, language development, voice disorders, cognitive-linguistic impairments, and swallowing difficulties.
• Assisting residents in recovering from speech or swallowing issues related to conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, or dementia.
• Helping residents improve their social communication and interaction abilities, enhancing their quality of life.
• Educating residents, families, and staff on communication techniques, swallowing strategies, and safety precautions.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care.
• Participating in care planning meetings to set and review therapeutic goals.
• Maintaining accurate records of assessments, treatments, and progress to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school with a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- License as required by the State of Wisconsin to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
